Early Years Foundation Stage –
Supporting Children’s Knowledge and Understanding of the World
Babies and young children find out about the world through exploration and from a variety of sources, including their families and friends, the media and through what they see and hear. Children need many opportunities to use a range of tools safely; work with a range of materials, undertake practical experiments and encounter creatures, people, plants and objects in their natural environments in order to develop a deep understanding of the world in which they live
Early Years Foundation Stage 200
This course will identify effective practice to support the development of Knowledge and Understanding of the World in children, focussing on underpinning knowledge to help implement the learning and development requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage document. Emphasis will be placed on ways in which children develop in this area; in particular the creation of a rich and stimulating environment that offers a range of experiences which will encourage children’s interest and curiosity, both indoors and outdoors. This course will also include the role of the adult and links to the other five areas of learning and development
